A Journey Through Life

A Journey Through Life

I have always been creative when given the proper outlet. Always said I’m a gypsy soul who thrives in nature, on the water, and being free. I don’t consider myself to be a blogger.  My senior year, I had to write a short autobiography, I titled it “A Journey through Life”. Needless to say my teacher told me she would pray for me and my best friend kept the copy as a keepsake. My parents shook their head in disbelief and walked off but what did they expect from the child voted Class Clown of her senior class? My friends over the years have said you have to write a book.

Is it just me or have you ever felt like sometimes people just ask you to dinner so their life feels normal in comparison to your “organized” chaos? LOL! They order drinks, and then say “So Mal, how’s blah blah blah!” as they lean in closer laughing. They know there’s always a story. A “are you serious”, adventurous story that always involves a project, life matter, crazy farm story, or family event. We’ve never been the matching pajama photo-op family but we work hard, love big, and do not take ourselves too serious.

I hope you enjoy our adventure of life, travel, projects, plant and gardening tips and more. We may start this blog out with our favorite popcorn recipe just so you’ll have a bag on hand as you read – A Journey Through Life.

Week 3 Farm Report

Week 3 Farm Report

Well friends it was a pretty quiet week on the farm. Our focus this week switched to virtual school work since the kids are back home due to rising Covid cases. The bitter cold single digits also caused us to stay inside and bundled up, even Roman (the kitten). Based on the single digits, I was anxiously awaiting to see how the transplants would hold up. Nolan and I secured the walls of the low tunnels prior to the weather change. We placed an extra layer of cover directly on the plants, in...

Week 2 – Farm Report 2022

Hey! Hey! Hey! We dodged another major snowstorm this week! As a kid I loved playing in the snow, sledding, and being pulled on a sled behind a four wheeler. Now, I hate being cold, my muscles aches at the thought, and rather be nice and toasty inside or on a beach. I really just sounded like I was falling apart. LOL! Raised Beds Any who! Nolan and I constructed 2 more raised beds and nestled the Ranunculus into their new homes, under the low tunnels. We pre-sprouted the Ranunculus around New...
